I never knew what “Huat Ah” means. Was wondering the meaning when everyone wishes me that. Then, a friend told me that “Huat” means “Fa” or “Fatt“, which means prosperity.

And being a working adult, their well wishes are mostly, “Be prosperous”. Not that is bad, just feeling different. When I was much younger, CNY is all about fun and collecting ang pows. Never really bother about prosperity. Prosperity is good, but treat prosperity wise too.

But anyways, Chinese New Year is not all about being prosperous. It is also the time to spend time with your loved ones.

Photobucket
Had reunion dinner with the bf’s family for the 2nd time. The food were awesome! =D Then, the bf drove me back to Kuantan and spent the first day of CNY with me and my family for the first time. Had an awesome time together though.

2nd day of CNY is the most meriah one, when my relatives came down from Singapore, JB and KL. Of course, it gets more meriah when we have our 2 lil cousins along. =)

Photobucket

Amanda and Tarnia greeted us with “Gong Xi Fa Cai!” and they cheered us up with their big bright happy smiles!

Our reunion dinner mainly falls on the 2nd or 3rd day of CNY where everybody is back home. The food, oh so yummilicious Hainanese food!

Photobucket

sometimes, its also great hanging out with extended relatives too.

Photobucket

On the 3rd day of CNY, we went for our usual beach outing as the cousins loves the beach. This time we headed over to Pantai Sepat. It’s been awhile since I been there. It’s clean and not crowded!

This is also the best opportunity to practice my photography skills. Still bad, but I think it’s okay for a nooby like me. I was using daddy’s Nikon D90. Some pictures are taken by my sister using uncle’s Nikon D3100. Also, from here I learnt that taking pictures in RAW and just JPEG has difference especially when it comes to editing.

I thought I have mastered the knowledge of Shutter speed and Aperture, but whenever I hold a DSLR, I fail to understand. Settings will never get right! Anyways, way way way way way lots to learn!

I like the blue sky. Haha, edited it! With RAW, the sky can turn blue when I edit. Without RAW, no matter how much I enhance, the sky will never turn blue but the sea will turn as muddy as it can.

I have watched somewhere on YouTube, that, do not glue onto your handphone and ignore the guests.

Photobucket
Well, they are the guests. And they are all on the phone. Even Tarnia! All facebooking except for Tarnia, playing with her games on her mommy’s iPhone.
Tarnia knows which is iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 4!

Kids are all so smart these days. And they make us happy! =)

Photobucket
Always looking forward for CNY because of the smiles we put on our faces. Everyone is happy, and I hope we all can be as happy as that all the time!

Photobucket
Wishing all of you a very happy new year! Well wishes and be prosperous in this year and in the near future!

It’s funny that despite being in a country with majority Chinese community, I was the ONLY Chinese at work today afternoon. The tea room was filled with Tagalog, Tamil and Burmese language.

Obviously shows the majority staff in this hospital’s OT are foreigners.

Photobucket

Oh well, at least I got my first angpow for this CNY from the hospital! I am definitely looking forward for more!

Work was extremely free today, a weekday, a TUESDAY. The list was like a Saturday’s list, not approaching 30 cases today. Time ticks so slowly, it was as if the whole afternoon took 24 hours. I was waiting for the next day’s list to come out so I could decide if I am able to apply for leave. When the list came out, there was less than 15 cases! Like, wow? On a WEDNESDAY?

Now, you see an obvious Chinese majority community. Everyone is preparing for CNY the next day!

So yeah, I managed to get a day leave tomorrow and I am ready to wake up earlier to clear my room.
(My room is still as messy as if it just got hit by tsunami). I just do not know how to clear all these mess. I would like to request to have my room door close throughout the whole CNY season.

Picture taken with my iPhone 4.

And oh, I was out with Danee this morning for a pedicure session at We Love Nails, ION Orchard. She brought her Lumix GF2 along and O-M-G the camera is awesome! Made me feel like getting one! But like what daddy said, “If you want to get a DSLR, drop that thought of getting a GF2!

But Lumix GF2 is so awesome, I want one also!

Anyway, I can’t wait to go back to KL tomorrow. So many complications on my travel itinerary, I must make this holiday a good one. Because of that one mistake I made, I had to pay an extra $90. Not worth it for just one mistake you know? It hurts so bad. $90 can buy a nice pair of jeans liao.

And of course, to meet me love. <3 The one that will always make my heart leap. =)

Jan 23

All of you know I ain’t the party girl who loves clubbing.
But yes, I was at LMFAO last night with Danee. =)

Photobucket

She was in desperation to see LMFAO, she even treated me with the entrance ticket. So I agreed to accompany her to watch the dudes.

The entrance ticket cost $48 per person and we each get 2 drink coupons for any drinks.

The event started even before 8pm with some bikini contest. So hot chicks were in bikinis and the grand prize winner walked away with $3000? or $4000? or $5000? I can’t remember.

Anyway, we were early, so we decided to grab something to eat.

Photobucket

We ordered this BBQ Chicken Pizza and some fries for our dinner at Wave House Restaurant itself.

Photobucket

Photobucket

And after makan, we head down to the stage where the crowds were. LMFAO wasn’t out yet and we were hoping they won’t make late appearance like in MOS, KL.

Photobucket

As we wait, we started dancing. And camwhoring.
OMG lah. I never dance for…..how many years already I really feel so robot. T____T

Photobucket

Then suddenly 4 girls in bikini but look like bra came on stage and dance. Hmm, so they are the Luxy Girls from Taiwan.

Photobucket

We weren’t interested in them, so we continue camwhoring and syiok sendiri. =P

Photobucket

Finally, LMFAO appeared. At around 9pm! The crowd were crazy. I mean CRAZY!!! Most of them are foreigners, whites to be exact. All in bikinis and broadshorts. All sweating and their sweat were like splashing all over our face. That is the disadvantage of being so short. T_T

And every time, a tall dude will stand RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. Like, hello? I’m so short I can’t see anything except the sweats on your back?

Photobucket

So yeah, can’t see anything, so take picture of Danee. =_=”

I think despite being so short, I managed to snap some good pictures of LMFAO. =D

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

After awhile, I manage to loosen up and danced. Man, it really felt so good! I miss dancing so much now I wanna go find a class to dance! I don’t really like to party kinda dance. I wanna dance for real! But so freaking packed, how la to dance setempat?

Photobucket

Photobucket

And because it is so freaking packed, those rude people just push and step on my feet without even saying sorry or excuse me. The asians are more polite, but the whites are horrible. Not being racist but seriously, where are your manners? =(

Then, another thing about going for such party is never go alone with another girl. Go in a group! I was molested like the whole time! D’=

I was like asking Danee to save me from those hamsap guys and when we were seperated due to the crowd we were like saving ourselves from those guys. That’s when I wish the bf is there to be the big boss. I dah insaf. Kalau gitu lagi I akan be the big boss instead.

Photobucket

Surprisingly, Danee cut it out before 11pm! I was expecting her to like dance til 1am. Phew. I was tired and thankfully she was tired too!

Photobucket

We went to the bar to get some drinks. I was having gastric pain, so I just ordered plain water. Danee took a bottle of Tiger beer, and because I have extra one more drink coupon, she ordered Tequilla mixed with Sprite.

Photobucket

and snap, she started feeling dizzy and happy and high after just 1/4 cup. She was trying not to look drunk in the pictures.

Photobucket

Thankfully I don’t drink. Or else 2 drunk girls swaying their way back home laughing out loud huhuhu…

Photobucket

That’s the drunk girl on the road.

Great experience though. But after that I get some nice good lecture from the bf. hehe…..=)

Aug 16

Photobucket

I finally had time to get away from the hectic lifestyle in Singapore. At times, I feel like giving up and leave the hospital who does not really bother much about their employees who worked so hard. Oh well.

So yeah, 2 weeks break. People asked me why is that I can get such a long break? That is because I have booked my leave since last year. Yeah, we have to book  our leaves. They cannot say no because it was already approved last year. Too bad for them though. For me, 2 weeks is not enough, because I really think I need a long break from work.

Call me selfish?

I don’t think I am. Cause I’m no workaholic. Yes, money is important. But I think my health matters more. I rather take a long leave and rejunivate my body than to take MC often. I’ve been taking MCs quite often. Yes, I’m a nurse and I fall sick too often.

Many of you out there works long hours too. You get tired too. My job uses lots of physical works. We get worned out easily. We get sick easily. Sometimes we do not have time for food. So though working 8 hours a day seem ‘normal’, usually I’ll crash on my bed the moment I reach home.

Complaining much doesn’t really help. Many people did not trust my words until they see me face to face. I lost 6 kgs in total since I started work. Yes lah I happy lah I lost weight. But I lost weight in an unhealthy way. People thought I go on diet, but I actually didnt have any appetite to eat.

So now, some people even supported me giving up my bond. But I’ll try to stay until I really can’t. Or, can someone marry me? haha.

I shall be strong. I shall be strong. I shall be strong!

May 31

The first Asia Conference was 2 years back. I did not get to go due to classes. This year, no matter what I sei sei must go. Plus, I am now working in Singapore, it is easier for me!

This time, it is not just Asia Conference, but the priviledge to combine with Church Growth International (CGI), founded by Dr Yonggi Cho, the senior pastor of the Yoido Full Gospel Church, Seoul, which is also the largest church in the world with a strong 850,000 members. The main speakers of the conference are all members of CGI, all with the largest members in their respective countries.

We have international preachers such as Phil Pringle, A.R Bernard, Reinhard Bonnke, Lee Young-Hoon, Tan Sri Datuk Prince Guneratnam, John Avanzini, Steve Munsey, Mark Conner, Kim Sung Hae (Dr Yonggi Cho’s wife), Sidney Mohede, Rev Kevin Loo, Robb Thompson, and many more. Of course local speakers were there too, one of them is my pastor, Ps Seow How.

OK, enough of introduction.

So, everyday, we (my sister and i) wakes up at 5am and leaves home by 6am to queue up. The conference starts at 9am but the queue is already very very very very very long at 7am. There are people who come as early as 5.30am to queue.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Over 20,000 delegates (note: it’s delegates. Not yet count in CHC singapore members yet) from over 2,000 churches from 70 nations.

Photobucket

The only time I did not need to queue was on Thursday night and the whole Friday. Had the opportunity to sit at the Priority Seats. =)

Photobucket

If we don’t queue up early, we may not be able to go into the main auditorium but have to be in the overflow auditorium. Don’t be surprised, there are 2 overflow auditorium and both can seat almost the same amount of people as the main auditorium. One day Pastor Kong Hee have to rent the Singapore stadium liao.

Photobucket

Photobucket

During the whole time at the conference, I spend most of my time with my sister and the CHCKL peeps. It was a very good catch up time with them and I really had fun.

Photobucket

CGI-AC 2010 is a life changing conference. Opened up my eyes and hearts to so many perspective of Christianity, being an example to the world, living as the image of God, great offering chanllenges, and many testimonies after testimonies on leading people to Christ. Even the grand imam  from Pakistan came over. Dr Yonggi Cho calls him, “My muslim brother.”

All speakers are so annointed and wows the crowd with such powerful message. Definitely a life changing conference! This is probably the first conference that have captivated me so so deeply, I now hunger for God so much.

“We always pray for God’s presence to be with us. Have you forgotten God is always with us? Have you forgotten God never left us?” – Reinhard Bonnke

I have learnt a lot. Making me eager to lift myself to a whole new level in serving God and pursuing my dream. I am gonna do so. You’ll see! =D I wish I could blog about everything! You can read all about the speakers and their message on http://www.citynews.sg/index.php/category/asiaconference .

For now, more pictures ;)
