I first read about the proposal of nuffnang co-founder Timothy Tiah and Audrey, also known as fourfeetnine when I saw the bf retweeted on twitter about their proposal. You can read them over at Tim Tiah’s and Audrey’s.

It was so sweet and simple. A day celebrated and witnessed by their close friends. One of them was Ringo of Cheeserland.com.

When the proposal video was out, produced by Crazy Monkey Studio, it went viral! First, I saw many of my fb friends posted them out. My timeline was filled with them sharing the video. Most of them don’t know who Tim Tiah and Audrey are!

Anyway, then the next day saw some sharing via 9gag.

The video had 32,000 views in less than 24 hours! O.o

After that 24 hours, they had almost 600,000 views. And then it’s on Gizmodo, one of the world top technology weblog about consumer electronics. Then on MSNBC and……blogged by RYAN SEACREST!

And Christina Perri also tweeted and share it on Facebook!

Basically, it’s shared everywhere. On PC World, DiGi FB page, on MSN Malaysia, Huffington Posta TOP blog in the US, Mashablethe largest independent news source dedicated to covering digital culture, social media and technology and Reddit. I’m sure there are more to come. Now, the infamous blog of mine is sharing it to you too! haha.

Met Audrey at NAPBAS 2011 because Pao wanted me to take a picture with Audrey and show it to her because Audrey is her favourite blogger. Also met Tim Tiah in the noisy Zouk while he was talking to the bf. Both Tim Tiah and Audrey are one sweet couple. At that time, the video was not out yet. But managed to congratulate Audrey on her engagement though.

Anyway, here’s the video on their Meme Proposal. Sweet and simple. And because of the creativity of Tim Tiah, it went viral all over the WORLD. Malaysia BOLEH! =D

Read about Tim Tiah’s and Audrey’s blog about this video proposal.

Congratulations again to the both of you on your engagement! So, a Meme wedding too? XD

Other than being back for NAPBAS 2011 last weekend, I was back to celebrate the bf’s birthday and also our 8th year of relationship together. The original plan was that he was supposed to come down to Singapore instead of me going back to KL (because I have been traveling back to KL too often this year). But the plan changed when he persuaded me to be his partner to NAPBAS 2011. He said, if I can’t go, he need to find another date. And my friends were telling me to go because not everyone gets to go and they had to do a blog post in order to win passes to the NAPBAS. So I’m the lucky one aye?

Photobucket

Whee!

Anyway, last Saturday, we spent the whole day together. I insisted of going to church on Saturday and managed to drag him along. It was a great day to spend some time together walking in shopping malls, makan, and see smiles on each other’s face. We had to celebrate a day earlier because I had to fly back the very next day to Singapore.

There’s one thing that I am still in denial is that the bf bought me something. Something every girl would dream to own.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Honestly, it is still kept nicely wrapped in their cloth bag and in the gift box. Hehe. Will definitely use it soon!
Thank you so much….!!

And time after time, he brings out a gift for me. I did not expect SO MANY gifts from him because it’s just our anniversary.

Photobucket

The first surprise. Piglet all the way from Tokyo Disneyland! <3

Photobucket

And then came more Pooh bears.

Here’s the whole collection of soft toys + pillows (excluding my favourite chao chao pillow) given by the bf.

I feel so kanasai because I only prepared ONE gift for him. Birthday + anniversary gift. T___T

Ya lah….don’t look at the value, people look at the heart…Ada hati dah boleh. But…..I still feel bad ma… =(

Anyway, at night, we went over to Las Vagas at Mont Kiara for dinner. Was pretty disappointed with the venue and the food, but well….at least I ended with Baskin Robbins ice cream then after. =D

So, I gave him his gift. His first response was, “Why you never wrap one?

And my answer was, “Covered with white box already ma. Save paper can?

And so, he opened the gift up…..

Photobucket

…..and I think he was almost in tears. LOLOL

He always wanted a watch. Every time I asked him what he wants, his reply will always be ‘a watch’. He has been waiting for 3 years for a watch from me but every year I believe he must be disappointed when he sees no watch. Haha. He also told me that he almost buy himself a watch because he gave up waiting.

Photobucket

Bought this Kenneth Cole watch a month before his birthday at Tangs during their 12% rebate day. HAHA! At least I get some rebate in my Tangs card. =P Had a hard time choosing watches because there were SO MANY of them. Thank God I had Danee with me to help me out. Or else I’ll spend the whole day there choosing one.

On the actual day, which was a Sunday, we had lunch at Marche, The Curve. I think Marche in Singapore is better. ANYWAY…..
The bf was looking for a new pair of jeans. I don’t know is it because he is growing bigger or his jeans are getting looser.

And because I felt SO BAD for just giving him ONE gift while I had SO MANY, I decided to buy him one. Calvin Klein Jeans store was just in front of us and they were having sales. So we popped by inside and have a look. He tried it on and liked it very much as the cutting fits him very well. But the price is like mad expensive.

Well, I believe in owning a good pair of jeans because I bought one from Topshop and it is still so fitting on me! I used to buy new pair of jeans every year because they get very loose, not because I lost weight, but the quality of the jeans were bad, it gets bigger after every wash. Instead of a skinny, it will look like a straight cut jeans.

So, I bought him this jeans.

Photobucket

Yes, this pair of jeans waist line is longer than my shoulder. Oh how much my bf has grown….sideways…Thats the purpose of why this picture was taken. Bwaahahaha.

(I need one too… T___T. If you realize, I only have one pair…which is my favourite grey Topshop Jamie skinny jeans. Nevermind, I shall stay faithful for a while more to this jeans!)

It was one of the happiest weekend of the year. Because we are on long distance relationship for many many years already, this feeling of joy and happiness is as if we have just started dating. Haha. And I’m looking forward for more of such days.

Photobucket

I love you.

He complained of severe abdominal pain 3 months ago. I suspected something ain’t right when I heard him burping non stop for 1 week. I started Googling “excessive burping” and I became worried when I read one site that wrote “GI disease”.

I encouraged him to see a doctor for advise but he refused. After 3 weeks, he couldn’t take the pain anymore and then he went to see the doctor. He was scheduled for a colonoscopy. As a nurse, I asked, “why colonoscopy, when he has pain at his upper abdomen?”  Noob doctor. At least do a gastroscopy and colonoscopy at the same time right?

After the colonoscopy, they found nothing. They then scheduled him for a gastroscopy 2 weeks later. They found nothing too and told him that probably is just gastritis. How can a person suffer from gastritis for a month, every single day? Noob doctor. Really noob. At least do a scan like ultrasound or something when a person complains of pain and the scopes you did shows nothing! That noob doctor then did not fix any appointment for anymore tests or scans. I mean, for his age, it could be gallstones or cholecystitis or maybe stomach ulcer.

Thank God, his wife saw her doctor and seek for help. He seen him a week later and was scheduled for a CT Scan of the abdomen. The results came out a week later and shows a mass in the pancreas. He was scheduled for a pancreas biopsy 2 weeks later. A week after the biopsy, the results came out to be positive. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Again, I googled about pancreatic cancer and I was disheartened when I read that “90% of patients who found out they have pancreas cancer is already too late“. Next is “pancreatic cancer often have poor prognosis, even when it is diagnosed early“. The reason why 90% of them are too late is because pancreas cancer spreads rapidly and is seldom detected at early stage, which leads to cancer death.  The signs and symptoms don’t appear until it is at the advanced stage. And it is impossible to remove surgically when it reached that stage.

He doesn’t smoke or drink. But he has strong family history of cancer. His siblings all died from cancer.

In his state, I think it is still at the early stage because it have not metastasize. Thank God for sharp eyes of the radiologist, the tumour is seen. He was referred to a specialist and I was there during that appointment. The specialist immediately said “not good”. He showed us the CT scan and said it is hidden and is very hard to see. Plus, the tumour is either near or on the hepatic artery, which makes it even more difficult or impossible to remove the tumour. He was scheduled for a surgery few days after the appointment with the specialist. The surgeon must do a surgery to see if the tumour could be resected or not because it cannot be determined from the CT scan alone.

Photobucket

The doctor drew the outline of the tumour so we can see and understand what he meant.

Photobucket

See the whitish thing in between the 2 been like drawing? That is the hepatic artery. It supplied blood to the liver. So it is a very important artery to keep the liver “alive”. I am not sure if the tumour is wrapping around the artery, or it is below the artery. We are all not sure unless the doctor do a surgery to see it.

3 days after the appointment, 2 days before the surgery, the doctor rang up and told him that they (the specialists, radiologists) have decided to not operate on him because it is just too risky. The doctor then referred him to the oncologist, who he will be seeing this coming Friday.

He is 72 already, but still very strong and doesn’t look like he is ill. He has lost a lot of weight, but still strong and positive. He is probably one of the strongest person I have ever known.

It is so sudden. Very sudden to know about this. I will do my best to take care of him. Of course I am scared…very scared as this time I don’t see it like how I see in the hospital when I work. But this is my very own.

Please keep my family in prayer that we’ll stay strong. Of course, keep him in prayer. I want to him to see me get married and see his great-grandchildren.

Adidas came out with a new label called Adidas NEO where its designs are colourful, fun, funky and of course style and sporty at the same time. Its label is to target to appeal to all the young fashionable ones. It’s fresh line collection of footwear and apparels with special collections from David Beckham.

Because this label is new in Malaysia, with only 3 stores nationwide – KL, Kota Kinabalu and Kuantan, Adidas organized a competition, where 10 young, happening, fun bloggers were chosen to run compete in being Malaysia’s first Adidas Neo Label Ambassador! I know a few of them personally who were chosen and there were this few ones that were having good fights in the votes!

PhotobucketTo cut the whole long story short, I would like to congratulate my friend, Careen for being Malaysia’s First Adidas Neo Label Ambassador! I can say she did put in ALOT of effort in making this dream alive.
And her efforts are just so natural. I mean, she is a full time student, a leader in church, has lots of part time work – modeling, ushering, hosting, acting, shooting, etc. and you will NEVER hear any complains from her. *salute*. Yet, she still can balance her time between studies, work, God, family, fiance, and friends. Not forgetting, in the midst of preparing for her big day! Those who knows her will agree with me though I’m not so close to her.

Photobucket
She is one super friendly and she always smiles. ALWAYS! Such joy in her heart despite being tired physically. She definitely enjoys every single bit of her life!

Photobucket

“After thousands of votes, we have crowned Malaysia’s first adidas NEO ambassador, Careen Tan! She proved herself to be the true embodiment of the NEO identity, and we couldn’t have picked a more eclectic individual to represent the adidas NEO brand!”

It’s true! I mean, she is just a natural talented girl! Dances, sings, acts, models and beautiful!

It was a close fight between Jane. When Jane and Careen were on the Top 2, they were given only 48 hours to get as many people to vote and comment on the video they made. No doubt, Jane had lots of votes coming in, while Careen was behind her. Careen may be new in the blogosphere while Jane has already lots of fans out there. Well, thank God, votes alone were just 20% overall. The judges decisions were 80%. And the judges made the right choice! =D

Not that Jane’s not good. Both have their strength and weaknesses. But based on the final video, I think Careen did a better job in promoting the colourful-ness, fun-ness, style-ness of Adidas NEO. =)

Photobucket

Careen in the recent City Harvest Church production, Chrome Heart. So cheerful!

THE WINNING VIDEO

Don’t you think she deserves the winning crown? =D

All the best in your future career, Careen! I can’t wait to see you in more commercials, billboards, adverts and more.

And congratulations to you once again!

So, the bf invited me to be his date to the NAPBAS 2011. I reluctantly said ok because I know nobody there. You know, the feeling of being #foreveralone in a place full of glamourous people, and yours truly is not a glamourous person.

Plus, I had to travel all the way from Singapore. And go through some pek chek moments while getting ready. You can read all about it here.

We arrive VERY late as firstly, I finished getting ready at 7.55pm (and the event starts at 8pm). Being Malaysian, we know that it will not start exactly at 8pm. We rushed over, thinking Marriott Putrajaya is nearby the airport. Mana tau, using Google Maps, it says “45 minutes away”. T______T It’s near Seri Kembangan there, exit Kajang toll.

The bf’s friend told him that they just started at around 8.30pm. And we were still on our way there.

Photobucket

All dressed up, full make ups done. And I’m happy with the outcome despite having so little time to get ready.

We arrived past 9pm, and Reshmonu was performing.

Photobucket

The usher brought us to our table, where we shared the same table as Cindy of teycindy.com and Jane Lau of chuckei.com. Jane may sound familiar to you, because she is competing in the Adidas Neo contest, along with Careen.

Photobucket
The hosts, Nadia Heng (Ms Malaysia 2010) and the famous Liang

Nope, I did not talk to any of them. They are the bf’s friends, but I shy lah….
I was busy eating and enjoying the performances and awards presentations. =B

We missed the first few parts of the awards presentation and performances. So I think I’ll just blog about what I know.

Photobucket

The performances were great, I had a good time being entertained. Especially from our local celebrity comedian, Harikh Iskandar.

Photobucket

His spontaneous jokes were just too funny and too true about Malaysians and Singaporeans. It didn’t sound offensive, but rather funny!

And the pole dancing was amazing. I just can’t take my eyes away from the whole performances. I was just in awe……..

Photobucket

….because of their muscles! SO muscular omg….

Photobucket

Look at themmm!

Photobucket

The bf said it’s not seducing anymore, because they are so muscular. Haha!

In between those performances, awards were given out.

my blur looking date <3

After the dinner, we headed to Zouk for the after-party. I was very tired, but I have not been to Zouk yet. I wanted to see see look look. The music was great, atmosphere was different compared to other clubs I have been to. But one thing I don’t like is, it is a smoking club. Hate the cigarette smells on my dress and hair. We had a private lounge, which is at the Velvet Underground. Every nuffies had a more private time together lol.

Photobucket

All I did was just drink a bottle of Heineken and sit down and snap picture and meet new people. And no, I did not dance. Though I love dancing, but I you know…I shy…

Photobucket

But anyway, thank you for inviting me to this awesome event. In the beginning, I doubted that I will enjoy myself. But without this big fella, I wouldn’t have the chance that every blogger long for – to attend the NAPBAS.

The people I met are all so friendly and nice. No doubt why you enjoy your field so much. =)
